It is an honour for the Teatro Eslava to welcome a classic band like The Sonics next autumn. They burst onto the scene in the sixties with provocative covers of well-known songs by Little Richard and Chuck Berry and songs full of distortion with lyrics about drug use, psychopathic killers and diabolical hypnosis. These were the foundations of a new rock aesthetic, the renowned Seattle-area scene. Since then, their music has crossed generations and none of their albums gather dust on the shelves because they can’t stop playing no matter how many years or decades go by. And finally, after several years, Rob Lind, Dusty Watson, Evan Foster, Tom Jorgenson and Joe Doria are back on stage to give us what we love the most: an energy-packed, authentic garage rock sound.
